PGY-1: FM:RAP Opportunity

Hi New PGY1s! Welcome to Queen's. We hope boot camp was a blast!

Now that the dust has settled a bit, we wanted to let you guys know about some cool opportunities with FM:RAP, a resident-run interest group. FM:RAP was started about 2 years ago with the purpose of organizing extra teaching sessions geared towards advanced-practice skills, targeted towards residents who see themselves potentially practicing in OB, sports med, anesthesia, ER, hospitalist, procedures clinic, etc. Sessions in the past have included perineal repair (OB), point of care ultrasound (OB, ER, procedures applications), opthamology/slit lamp use, nerve blocks (anesthesia/procedures/ED focused). We also maintain a curated google drive of learning resources for these sorts of skills. We will keep you posted via email as to when you can sign up for and attend these teaching sessions; we think they will be a great opportunity for you to learn important skills.

In the mean time, we are currently recruiting two interested PGY-1 residents to help us organize sessions and to pass the torch on to.

Email bretton.hari@dfm.queensu.ca and cc katherine.soucie@dfm.queensu.ca with a short paragraph about why you're interested. Stay tuned for info on our teaching sessions throughout the upcoming year!
