PGY-1: Committee opportunities at the CFPC

"On behalf of the Section of Residents Council, we’d like to share an exciting opportunity for incoming residents(current R1s) to have your voice heard and contribute to the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). In order to advance its strategic directions and support members across the country, the CFPC strikes many important committees and working groups. These committees often seek resident membership in order to inform their work and ensure a resident viewpoint is captured. The details of these opportunities can be found below. Most groups have two meetings per year that are in person at CFPC offices in Mississauga, Ontario and tele/videoconferences in between. Expenses are reimbursed for in-person meetings.

Should you be interested in one of these opportunities, please submit an email to academicFM@cfpc.ca which includes your university and a brief expression of interest (maximum of 150 words) outlining why you would like to join this group and the strengths you bring. All submissions will be reviewed by a respective committee member/staff and successful applicants notified via email. Deadline for submissions is October 20, 2017.

Please note that part of your responsibility will include linking with the Section of Residents Council by writing a brief report after each meeting and joining Council meetings by teleconference as needed to provide an update on the work of your committee and seek broader input. In addition, a working knowledge of English is required as CFPC committee meetings are generally conducted in English.

Thanks for your interest and support!
